The story behind andwis lifts

andwis lifts is built from some of the most experienced lift businesses in the UK. Over the past three years, we've brought together Classic Lifts, DAB, Unique Lifts, Concept, Southern Counties and Bullet Lift Services, each with decades of expertise, strong regional roots and long-standing client relationships. Between them, they represent more than 30 years of lift expertise in the UK.

The only way is up.

andwis lifts brings this expertise together under one name, one system and one clear point of contact.

If you’ve worked with any of our heritage teams before, that relationship won’t change. The people are still here, their local knowledge is still here. What’s different is the scale of what we can now offer.

We set out to be the most respected independent lift company in the UK, one that earns its reputation through consistent service and honest communication.

That means arriving when we say we will, telling you when something hasn’t gone to plan, investing in our engineers, and giving you the data and visibility to manage your assets.

It also means that when something goes wrong with your lift, you’re dealing with an accountable team, in a business driven by relationships. We want to work with you to solve your challenges.

And, as part of the andwis group, we share a set of values that guide how we work: with integrity, dynamism and partnership.

Integrity is integral.

When it comes to lives and livelihoods, only the highest standard of workmanship is good enough. That’s why we pride ourselves on our unfaltering dedication to deliver our best work, every time. Our name is our promise: safe, sustainable craftsmanship you can count on.

Dynamic by design.

We’re engineers by skillset, entrepreneurs by mindset. We pre-emptively solve problems and proactively seek new opportunities, preparing today for the challenges of tomorrow. With our forward- thinking, can-do attitude, we don’t fear change - we embrace it. Because we’re the ones making it happen.

Partnership for progress.

We’re people people. Partnership and collaboration are essential in bringing local experts together and working closely with our clients to support their organisations. So, building strong relationships carries through everything we do. We look out for each other, support one another, and treat everyone with mutual respect.

The value of independence.

Being an independent lift company matters for our clients. It means we're not restricted to a single product range or manufacturer. We specify equipment on merit, drawing on open protocol components from the best suppliers in the industry without incentive to select one product over another.

Our approach to sustainability

We believe in extending asset life, improving energy efficiency through modern gearless drives and regenerative technology, and reducing unnecessary waste from premature replacement.

Modern lift technology delivers meaningful energy reductions: regenerative drive systems that feed energy back into the building supply, LED car lighting, intelligent standby modes that disconnect power when the lift isn't in use. A modernised lift estate can make a measurable contribution to a building's carbon reduction targets.

As part of the andwis group we are committed to helping build safer, more sustainable, more efficient buildings. As we evolve we will be developing our approach to environmental performance, and will be sharing more on this as our programme matures.

National capability, local ownership.

Being part of a national group can mean centralising operations, but this means that local relationships and response times can be lost.

We've taken a different approach. We have 11 regional offices and local management teams across the UK, from the Northeast to Bristol, Kent to Yorkshire. The engineers who look after your buildings are based nearby, and the people managing your account know your area.

Our people

Our business is built on technical expertise. Our directly employed service engineers are trained to NVQ Level 3, and our Technicians to NVQ Level 4 through our own apprenticeship programmes. Our engineers and many of our team are also trained in passenger release, and hold the EOR 202N qualification.

The andwis badge on an engineer’s uniform proudly represents the training they’ve completed, the standards they work to, and the company that’s invested in them.
